So here I am – at Adventures in Missions.  In Gainesville, Georgia.  Trying to figure out how to describe myself in a blog that I don't yet know how to write.

I am the mother of two great kids and mother-in-law to a terrific daughter-in-law.  I'm technically an "empty nester" but I've been so grateful for a steady stream of 20-somethings who have lived in my home in recent years.

I grew up in Maryland and Pennsylvania, spent a brief time in Iowa and years later a brief stint in California.  I went to college and lived for several years in Virginia, then in the Atlanta area.  But the 17 years I spent in Connecticut after that represent the longest I have ever lived anywhere.

Connecticut is also the place where my life fell apart and then healed.  It's the place where I experienced a church community, a "small group," a circle of friends, and incredible counselors that walked through everything with me – with great love and integrity, with the perfect blend of shoulders to cry on and kicks to move forward, who taught me that God heals far more deeply than I could have imagined.  And along the way, lots of laughter, lots of long talks, lots of heart connection.

And now I'm back in Georgia, exploring how to make this season of my life one that really counts in the Kingdom.  Grateful for Jesus.  Grateful for the grace of God.
